Updating brick

Andrea saw my painted paneling in my den and understood the power of paint.

Spring is a time of year when many homeowners take stock of any exterior updates they need for their home.

I’ve been having a blast, from partaking in Christmas parties, plays, and dinners with friends and am thoroughly enjoying this month.

The whole fireplace and hearth took me less than 30 minutes. Since we were spraying in the house, we needed to seal off everything. I, on the other hand, required about 3 showers before all the black paint was off my face and hands!

It may be things that need to be repaired, replaced or completely remodeled.

My neighborhood always starts to buzz with contractor traffic and landscapers once the weather breaks.

Brush your paint mix on a 1’x1’ area and then immediately use your rag to rub it deeply into the brick and then remove any excess.

The process goes really quickly, but I’ll warn you it’s a little messy.

We are going to paint this brick fireplace and all the wood paneling. Not sure yet, but we are probably going with White Dove on the kitchen cabinets and some of this paneling. It’s got so much potential and I can’t wait to see it come alive! Decorating a home doesn't have to cost a fortune and I've spent years thrifting at antiques markets and yard sales, finding those treasures that make a home unique.
